Are you passionate about improving maternal and child health in under served communities—and sharing the hope of the gospel as you do? This is a strategic opportunity to develop and lead a health education ministry focused on pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood in North Cambodia, where infant mortality rates remain significantly higher than the national average.
As a Community Health Worker, you’ll be based in Siem Reap and travel regularly to rural and remote areas, including hill tribe villages and isolated Khmer Buddhist communities. You’ll provide education, support, and practical care to expectant mothers and young families—empowering them with knowledge and resources to improve health outcomes.
You’ll also use these opportunities to proclaim the gospel, pray with families, and disciple new parents, helping them discover the love and presence of Christ in the midst of everyday life.
In this role you will:
• Start and lead a new ministry for WEC Cambodia
• Develop and implement a culturally sensitive health education strategy
• Teach topics related to pregnancy, childbirth, newborn care, and early parenting
• Conduct home visits, small group sessions, and community workshops
• Build relationships with families, midwives, and local health workers
• Pray with families and disciple new parents as opportunities arise
• Partner with churches, clinics, and NGOs for outreach and support
• Identify and train local believers to continue health education efforts
• Travel regularly to remote and rural communities
Northern Cambodia is home to diverse and often isolated communities, including hill tribes and rural Khmer Buddhists. Many lack access to basic health education and support, especially in maternal and infant care. This role is a strategic opportunity to bring hope, health, and the love of Christ to families in need.
