There is a proverb that is attributed to African origins that says, “it takes a village to raise a child”, we believe the same about reaching the nations with the life-transforming Good News of Jesus!

Christians need to go and live in communities around the world, building relationships and sharing with those who are still to hear about Jesus in a meaningful way. However, we do not believe they should do this in isolation. Sending someone cross-culturally requires a team of people, and those who serve in Australia are just as vital as those who go and live in the communities overseas. Those involved in recruiting, equipping, training, and supporting those who are serving cross-culturally, all make a critical contribution to sending someone overseas and keeping them there. Centres also play a key role in many of these activities and so ensuring that these places are well kept and in good order is another key task to reaching the unreached.

FAQs

Do I need to have overseas experience to volunteer?

No, whilst overseas experience is helpful for some roles, having previous experience overseas does not stop you from volunteering to serve in Australia.

Migrant, refugee and Asylum seeker Ministry in Australia

The nations are coming here to Australia, and so WEC Australia seeks to reach such people in these communities in our own county too. In the past many of these peoples have been really difficult to access and there have been many obstacles to share with them. Now we have access to these peoples with less obstacles here in Australia, so building relationships with refugees and migrants, and helping them to come to know Jesus is another key way to build God’s Kingdom.
