If you are willing to use your holidays to bless young Brazilians to learn English, English for Missions (EFM) is a great opportunity for you. You are going to have a cross-cultural experience in a Christian environment with a lot of fun!

EFM is an intensive English course focused on Christian vocabulary and missions with three classes divided in basic, intermediate, and advanced levels.

The students are Brazilian church members, Bible School students, missionaries, and church leaders (around 25 students total). Each class may hold 8-9 students from ages 18 and older.

You will be involved in teaching English based on Christian vocabulary. The program is flexible and open for one’s personal input about his or her Christian/faith experience. There is also a focus on missions’ awareness.

Requirements:
Teaching qualifications: Although it’s very handy when the teacher has some ESL/EFL training, for the EFM there’s no need to be a trained teacher. Being a native speaker and a born-again Christian is more than enough to handle the classes.

Resources available: We have English bibles, books for photocopy and some games. Feel free to bring any additional material, such as visual aids, games, and any other resources.

Costs: Volunteers must cover their own airfare costs to come to Brazil and donate $AUD475.00 to cover food, trips and accommodation during the two-weeks program; except are the meals before and after the EFM course. And we recommend the same amount for personal expenses.
