The The Missionary Training Institute (MTI) partners with WEC Korea to offer trainee missionaries their first cross-cultural experience through learning English.
MTI's semesters run for 2x five month periods (March-July, Sept-January). The curriculum is a community-based, English language programme staffed by volunteer teachers from around the world. Students are required to speak in English at all times and to participate fully in the life of MTI and a local church.
The curriculum is intense but flexible, built around the students' needs and the skills of the staff available. Besides conversational English, there are openings to teach Bible study methods, practical mission issues, IT, handicrafts, sports and games, cross-cultural and interpersonal skills, or anything to help prepare Koreans for team-based cross-cultural work in international mission.
Qualifications: TESOL/ESL teaching qualifications are desirable, but not essential. What is essential is a love for God and His people and a willingness to serve plus natural English fluency and a good teaching ability.
