Alison is currently a full-time volunteer staff member in Strathfield Sydney serving with Sydney Refugee Team and in Member Care/Spiritual Direction. She returned to Australia in 2021 after having served in a majority Muslim country in West Asia for 22 years. There she was involved in church planting in a number of different locations.
Alison’s strong call to cross cultural ministry is now being lived out by reaching out to refugees from a variety of countries as they experience the challenges of trying to settle in Sydney, deal with grief and trauma, and find belonging. The Sydney Refugee Team of which she is a part, aims to share the love and hope of Jesus with forcibly displaced people by serving in practical ways, offering friendship, emotional and spiritual support, opportunities to develop community, to receive healing and to get to know the One who offers true and lasting refuge.
Born of years of the experience of being a cross cultural worker herself, God has also placed in Alison a desire to walk alongside other overseas workers: to offer pastoral care, mentoring and spiritual direction to them – to see them thrive even in the most challenging of contexts, going deeper in knowing the Lord themselves, and fulfilling their calling to help others know Him. She does this with the Member Care Team of WEC Australia.
