Alan & Leanne P
We have been living in Cambodia, as part of the WEC Cambodia team, since September 2022, and are currently focusing on learning the Khmer language, in Phnom Penh. In the longer term, we hope to be reaching out to the poorer people, in the villages with the transforming power of the gospel, planting churches, and making disciples.
We first found ourselves in Cambodia, back in 2017, with a short-term gospel centred missions’ trip, where we joined with local pastors into the more remote locations, sharing the gospel, for the planting of churches. This also planted something in us, as we returned again in 2018, and 2019, before sensing the conviction to move here permanently. So, in early 2020, we began the process of making that happen.
Our hometown is Hervey Bay in QLD, where we have a wonderful church family at Hervey Bay Baptist Church. Alan served on the eldership, preaching roster, worship team, and the cleaning team. Leanne served on the missions committee and coordinated a regular women’s group. For employment Alan was running a small IT business (as a sole trader), and Leanne was a registered nurse at Hervey Bay Hospital.
When we have the opportunity to relax, we usually enjoy exercising, fishing, camping, hiking, playing music and singing praises to our Saviour... not necessarily in that order.
