Chris and Lisa met each other while studying an advanced diploma of Theology and Cross-cultural work at Worldview Centre for Intercultural Studies in Launceston, Tasmania. On completion they served cross-cultural in a majority Islamic country overseas in Western Asia for 15 years where they were part of a church plant. 5 of those years they served as Branch leaders.
Chris and Lisa have 3 children Micah, Jasmine and Joshua who have spent most of their childhoods growing up overseas. West Asia was home for them with many fond memories.
Chris and Lisa returned to Australia in 2018 and served as deputy directors for a term of 4 years. Chris now heads up the media and marketing team working on webpages, videos, social media and print materials together with the team. He has a role in the upkeep of the Strathfield WEC property and when the opportunity arises be involved in speaking at churches, youth groups and running kids' programs. Where possible he enjoys training and sharing their experiences with upcoming WEC candidates.
Lisa wears a few hats as a Member Carer of several of our Aussies overseas regularly contacting them online and she is part of the Sydney Refugee Team organising team and is a companion for a few refugee families. Lisa is involved in different parts of recruitment and training and loves to help run kids, youth “Stepping into Mission” programs. Lisa helps with the upkeep of accommodation and grounds of the property here at Strathfield too.
Our focus is now to share with churches the unreached world outside of Australia and the opportunities of reaching the unreached within Australia and to see more Aussies respond to God’s call to go out to the least reached parts of the world and staying for as long as possible.
