This important role will help with the smooth functioning of a rural Health Centre in The Gambia.
Duties will include: Keeping the store in order, entering drugs and appliances received and recording all of those given out daily to the wards and outpatient clinics. Liaising with the pharmacy regarding movement of drugs. Stocking clinical rooms and helping the ward staff keep the ward stock up to date. Entering data on to stock cards and also on to the computer which has a special database. Keeping a careful watch on stock and expiry dates. Three monthly stock takes. Helping the administration team and doctors draw up drug orders.
You would work under Gambian leadership with a mainly local team. Besides this role, there are many opportunities to get involved with local church, youth club and village outreach. Serve the Lord in many ways in evangelism with the local church and the clinic.
Qualifications: We are looking for a responsible, organised person to run the pharmacy store. You will be an orderly person capable of working on your own. No previous knowledge of drugs is necessary. This is suitable for anybody with the above qualifications. This job has been done successfully in the past by a school leaver but a person of any age would be suitable. Single or married accommodation available.
