WEC and You; Living Mission Together

Jesus Came to them...

...to his disciples... to his church. And he gave them a calling. A calling into mission. A commission if you would. And it was Great!

The greatest task given to the church...

...A task given to every disciple of Jesus - together.

"go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you". (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)

In WEC not only do we believe in this great commission, we believe in doing it together. Relationships are vital. This great commission is not something simply for WEC to do alone, rather God has given us a part to play in His mission. Just as he had given you a part to play too. Perhaps that part will bring you to involvement with WEC, whether as someone who will go to the nations, or someone who comes alongside and supports those who go.

"I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ" Ephesians 3:7-8

Meet with WEC

WEC is a family, on God's mission together.

In many cultures its not just the who someone is today that is important, but the story of how they came to be here. The who of a person is more than just the one individual, its the sum of the parts, it is the story of those who have come before. It is family and generations.

Take the time to explore some of who WEC is, to find within us the family, the village; a community of Gods people in service to him. For over one hundred years WECers have walked in the footprints of others.

We would love you to explore what your part could look like with us. Or how we can help you, whether as an individual or a church, to understand and engage with the great commission in the context that God has put you in.

wec trains

We believe that quality training and preparation is essential to effectiveness and longevity in cross-cultural ministry.

WEC offers many ways of training: from formal Bible College study, Internships and Gap Year programs, as well as short courses, camps, mission weekends and training options for your Church, School or Youth Group.

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel"

(Ephesians 6:18-19)

wec prays

We are called to make God’s glory known among the nations. We recognise, therefore, that our greatest need is passion for his glory. We commit ourselves to prayer that hungers for Christ in our lives and for his glory in the nations. We call on the Lord to create among us a shared longing to know his glory; to see him and become more like him.

Find out more about how WEC Prays and how you can pray with us to see God glorified in all the nations of the world.

Supporting our workers is a lifelong process whereby WEC and Sending churches partner together to provide effective care so that missionaries are healthy, resilient and effective in life and ministry.

This is achieved by caring for and encouraging our missionaries and equipping them in self and mutual care.

support financially

While not everyone is called to go to the nations, there are many that God calls to financially support the ministry of WEC and our people. This financial support not only allows people to go and ministry to happen, it also enables those who go to remain in their place of service.

All monies given to individual workers goes to them, WEC doesn't take finances from Peter to pay Paul. All our workers are voluntary, whether at home or overseas and thus rely on Christ to provide through others as they respond to Him.
