A WEC Story by Lisa
We often go to IKEA together. To ‘window’ shop and stroll, or to have a coffee at the cafe there. This summer break without the usual language classes I’ve been having a 'friendship season’. That is catching up with friends I’ve haven't seen for a while.
Praise God it has been my first experience of having a whole God conversation, and sharing the Gospel. And in the local language too! Praise Him! My friend F had tears. It was a very precious and touching time together. After I had shared about how much He loves her and is waiting for F to call out to Him, she said, "I feel like I've had water washed over me.”
I said: In the Bible, Jesus said 'I am the living water'.
She looked astonished.
Later, we prayed in the car.
She is refugee who has been here since she was 15 years old, and now has lived here longer than in her parent's country. She has a husband and three daughters. They do not practice faith, and she has been struggling with her health.
Please won't you pray for her and for us?
That His Holy Spirit will touch her with His love and power, even in her struggles. Please pray similarly, like in Matthew 13: 23 ... the seed falling on good soil ... [is like] someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” (NIV)
Also, for His protection over our conversation and over her and her mind and health, as well as over us as a family in this town.
