What a cool movie. 3D, aliens, environmental and colonial themes. What is an avatar anyway? In Hinduism, Avatar refers to a deliberate descent of a deity from heaven to earth, it could be translated appearance. The term is most often associated with Vishnu, though it is also associated with other deities such as Krishna and Ganesh.

Tonight we spent a few hours talking to Muslims about Eid al-Adha. They were handing out brochures about it on the street so we asked them about it. The first explanation was "It's just like Christmas, a big day when Muslims get together to pray and be with family". Its the Festival of Sacrifice and I suggest you google it rather than I write an inadequate summary.

Funny really. We spend so much time trying to get people to investigate our Christian tribe. Often we set up a bookstall on a main street in an area of Sydney and give away Bibles and DVDs. Yesterday I went to a very Buddhist part of town where there are many Vietnamese and Chinese peoples.
