First Step Kids

Introduce your Sunday school class, school students, or kids club to the importance of missions through First Step Kids and encourage them to think about the difference they can make for Jesus around the world, today and in the future.

Through First Step Kids children will:

Grow in understanding and awareness of the needs there are in the world today for people to hear about Jesus.
Celebrate what God is doing and the part that missionaries play in making Jesus known around the world.
Learn through a range of crafts, interactive stories, games, and prayer activities.

First Step Kids sessions are planned and created to suit your needs. The program can be run as:

a one-off session
a day full of activities
a series of sessions over a few days

First Step Kids is a great way to inspire and challenge the kids in your church. Our team work alongside your own, tailor-making the sessions to fit your needs, and to focus on areas of the world where your church is already engaging and supporting missionaries. Widen the kids' scope and understanding of what God is doing in His world through a First Step Kids progam.

First Step Kids programs have been enjoyed by students and teachers alike in the primary schools where they have been run. Suitable for an assembly or chapel, the classroom, or a lunchtime or after school club, First Step Kids sessions interactively introduce students to missions, helping them to learn and understand more about God’s heart for the world.

This was our church's first introduction to mission from a kids perspective. In the First Steps Kids program we loved the way you worked together with the kids, using games, objects, pictures and work sheets to open their understanding. The creative border of ‘unreached countries’ that the kids made gave us a visual reminder of the unfinished task in world mission. I’m hoping we’ll be able to do it again!

WEC are a great team, they came to run a First Steps Kids program and teach our Primary aged kids about mission. The kids now have a good understanding about why it is so important to tell others about Jesus.
