Since Adam and Eve were kicked out of Eden there have been refugees. Those displaced from their rightful home, forced to move on, to find somewhere new, to resettle and start a new life.
Yet for many refugees it is not that easy. For the majority it is not choice alone that sends them into this life, rather it is circumstance, thrust upon them, that brings them to the point of leaving where they belong. Whether due to war, famine or natural disaster or economic reasons, fleeing is rarely the first option.
Troubled and often traumatised many refugees have a long journey and much hardship on their journey to, they hope, a better life.
As God's people we are left with the question, how will we respond to this modern day humanitarian crisis? How can we be Jesus, to these neighbours in need?
