ejconnect

This is a regular email bulletin prepared and sent out by Richard Jenner which keeps everyone in the community up-to-date with what's happening. All ejs are automatically subscribed.

learning community meetings

We meet to discuss various missiological subjects and studies that different people are examining. The purpose is to provide a safe place to explore new ideas and to get feedback from others on developing ideas. It is a mix of academic and non-academic thinking in a relaxed atmosphere.

All ejs and members of their churches and anyone else who is thinking about or studying missiology is warmly invited.

If you would like to read about some of the issues being explored have browse the learning community.

annual get-together

October 2nd - 5th, 2009 in western Sydney

All ejs and members of their churches are warmly invited.

The main purpose of this is building relationship between ejs and introducing new ejs and churches to the journey community but we also use this opportunity to explore missional theology.

reading, thinking, learning together

As our intention is to be reflective practitioners, we intentionally seek to develop a habit of lifelong, communal learning. To encourage this we encourage ejs to read books while still in Australia and to discuss what they are learning with the ej community. We intend to cycle the following three books.

annual WEC conference

All ejs and leaders of their churches are warmly invited.

April 14th - 21st, 2009 in Launceston.

internship

This is a focused, cross-cultural church planting learning experience. It is not for those who just want to try out church planting. (For that we recommend a testdrive.) Internships are for those who are intending to become (or are already) cross-cultural church planters and want to study specific areas. It is not a programme but organized around a learning contract defined in negotiation between the intern and the Journey Team.

mentoring

This is a focused, cross-cultural church planting learning experience. It is not for those who just want to try out church planting. (For that we recommend a testdrive.) Mentoring, in contrast to internships, is for those who are intending to become (or are already) cross-cultural church planters and want to study specific areas but cannot commit to the same amount of time as an intern, or are unable to live in the residential context of the team. It is not a programme but organized around a learning contract defined in negotiation between the mentee and the Journey Team.
