Locals help plant new church in North Asia
WEC church planters aim to plant a new church in a large town in North Asia where only one small church currently exists.
The team, which includes three local believers, plans to hold the first service in the near future.
“Our vision for a new church plant is finally coming into being!” said WEC chuch planter ‘Greg’.
“We have been praying for this since May and the area to start has been decided; it’s a huge area with only one small Christian church to date,” he said.
“I felt that our company was really lacking in vision and I was beginning to wonder ‘What on earth am I doing here?’ but praise the Lord we have a new vision and the passion has also revived.”
Joining Greg in the churchplanting team are two Korean women and three local believers.
However a location for the church is yet to be decided.
“God has given us three (local) men with very different gifts to work with us and we’re seeking him for at least two girls and maybe a few more guys,” said Greg.
“Please specifically pray for more (locals) to work with us, for unity and for a building to meet in.”
“Pray that people’s hearts will be soft to hear the good news and that they will come!”
Greg is hoping to move to the area so that he can be closer to the church.
The country recently won its first Olympic medal for many years.
Huge festivities ensued with people crowding the streets to celebrate with shouts, car horns and high fives.
“I long for the day when they can yell, shout, etc, for the name of our Father.”
“How wonderful those scenes would be!”
